While We Were Away

Scott Strain was elected State Chairman of Nebraska, Ryan Brunner took control of Paul Gourley's old stomping grounds in South Dakota, Nick Pederson gained control of the other Dakota and Liz Lewis smoked out the competition in Maryland.

Congratulations!

After Texas' gamble the previous weekend, two other Southern states joined the resolution fray ...

Brandon Hembree's resolution in support of the CRNC's fundraising transparency passed in Mississippi. Hembree later boasted of a $2,000 bribe from Paul Gourley himself.

The College Republicans in Mississippi didn't like that too much and decided to throw Hembree out of office by electing Natalie Cole their new State Chairman.

Jon Thompson got elected in North Carolina, but only after the state had condemned every living organism known to man. New slogan: Don't Mess with North Carolina.

Great work, keep up the coverage. At least people can get objective news here.

This is no way an opposition blog. They know too many administration goings-on.

Absolutely. Administration people run this, I'd suspect Mr. Maine.

Or perhaps Minnesota... anybody wonder why the Minnesota CR Blog that doesn't exist yet is one of the four links?

How can someone in Minnesota have anything to do with this blog. You guys don't know what you're talking about.

Spin, spin, spin, it's all you opposition folks have.

Well for one, why would anyone other than a Minnesotan put up a link like that? How would they even know the site?

Second... the only time I've heard "administration" used is when Gourley and his crew are describing themselves.

Third... these softball choices for the "CR revered" smell of establishment spin. Acoording to Mr. Higgins, our top problem is infighting. Pretty standard Gourley talking point.

And how could Minnesota have anything to do with an establishment blog? Eric Hoplin, Chris Tiedeman, Mike Krueger, Jake Grassel, Doug McGregor... they may be the old old guard, but they are all still working in Minnesota politics and certainly know what is going on in CR's around the country. Seriously doubt they're the authors, but certainly a source of information.

So I say perhaps Minnesota, definately establishment (cough, "administration"), and generally a pretty pointless blog. Except of course for spirited debate facilitated by discussion boards like this. :)
